Another Great Italian Cover Artist
Renato Aime was among the many talented artists of Italian heritage who entered the romance novel illustration field during the 1980s. These also include the gifted Alessandro Biffignandi, Franco Accornero, and, of course, Pino Daeni.
Aime was born July 18, 1946. He loved art from a young age.
He painted hundreds of book covers and was one of the more prolific artists in the romance genre. Aime illustrated covers for publishers such as Kensington/Zebra, Dorchester, Bantam, Avon, and Harlequin.
He worked in primarily oils as well as other mediums. While Renato Aime had his own unique style, his art does contain some similarities to his fellow Italian illustrators.
Hobbies, Family, and Death
In addition to being an artist, Aime worked as a salesman for elite sportscars at a Maserati dealership.
His hobbies included golfing and bowling.
He lived in Harrington Park, New Jersey until his passing on November 1, 2014. Aime left behind a loving wife, Maurizia, and daughter, Tiziana.
