Early Life
Diane Sivavec is a talented artist who has created book covers for various genres throughout her long career that began around the late 1980s,
She was born in 1961 in western Pennsylvania. Sivavec received her formal education at Syracuse University’s School of Visual and Performing Arts.
As a student, her awards included the Society of Illustrators honors, class valedictorian, and the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
Commercial Art Career
Sivavec has worked as a commercial artist for numerous clients.
Most notably, she painted fine china collector’s plates for the Bradford Exchange. Sivavec has been hugely successful with subjects such as Elvis, The Beatles, and James Stewart from It’s a Wonderful Life.
She has also painted images of sports stars like Dan Marino.
In addition, she has worked for top advertising departments like the Hearst Corporation and Anheuser-Busch.

Like other cover illustrators, she turned from using oil paint to create covers to incorporating digital artwork in her designs.
Even so, her artwork is recognizable by the quiet beauty and gentle romance she evokes with her figures.
