Artist: Judy York
Judy York has been a book cover illustrator for nearly thirty years. She produced artwork for many publishers, including Ballantine, Berkley, Dorchester, Harlequin, and Zebra.
York received fine art training at Wesleyan University in Connecticut and the Pratt Institute in New York.
Like many artists, York works in multiple mediums. For years she painted with oils, but by the end of the 20th century, she would be introducing digital illustrations to her covers. York has been innovative in using tools available through modern technology to create covers that range from photorealistic to romantic.
Judy has continued to create oil paintings. Her fine art has been displayed in galleries in New York, Atlanta, Connecticut, and Arizona.
York was married to the late artist Charles Gehm. She now lives in Connecticut.
