This book tells the story of the youngest MacAlpin sister, Megan, and her romance with an Irish renegade, Kieran O’Mara. 3 1/2 stars
Ruth Langan’s Highland Heather is the sequel to her previous Scottish romance, Highland Barbarian. I liked this Harlequin Historical much more than its predecessor. Why? I enjoyed the conflict between the hero and the heroine and the English setting, plus introducing Queen Elizabeth I to a story always makes things interesting. 4 1/2 stars
For the week starting Monday, July 12 to Sunday, July, 18, I thought some Highland or Scots-themed old-school romance covers would be a bonny sight for your eyes to enjoy.
Tender Feud by Nicole Jordan is one of the better Scottish clan feuding & kidnapping love stories I’ve read. 4 1/2 stars
Highland Velvet by Jude Deveraux is the second in the Montgomery brothers series featuring a Highland lass forced to wed Stephen Montgomery. 5 stars
Highland Barbarian by Ruth Langan is a solid start to her series about the Mac Alpin clan, but it is not as exciting as the rest of the sequels are. 3 stars
Sad to say but Highland Tryst by Jean Canavan is one of the most incompetent, dullest historical romances I’ve read…ever. 1 star
