devil in silver room

Category Romance Review: Devil in a Silver Room by Violet Winspear

Posted on May 27, 2022November 28, 2023 by IntrovertReader

There’s good reason Violet Winspear’s Devil In a Silver room had many reprints: it’s an enthralling, hypnotic love story that pulls you in from the moment the hero enters the story. And oh, what a hero he is! 5 stars

a naked flame ray olivere

Category Romance Review: A Naked Flame by Charlotte Lamb

Posted on May 24, 2022November 28, 2023 by IntrovertReader

Sad to report, but A Naked Flame has to be the worst Charlotte Lamb book I’ve read so far. It features a wishy-washy, stupid heroine who wouldn’t know her butt crack from the Grand Canyon. 1 star

Posted on May 23, 2022November 28, 2023 by Blue Falcon

This review is of Savage Rapture by Sylvie F. Sommerfield. It begins with two lovers parting company and ends with three couples having a HEA. 4.5 stars

midnight fires carol finch

Historical Romance Review: Midnight Fires by Carol Finch

Posted on May 16, 2022November 28, 2023 by Blue Falcon

This review is of Midnight Fires by Carol Finch. This Zebra historical romance set during the war of 1812 is a typical Carol Finch book. It’s very good, but lacking the dynamic qualities to make it great. 4 stars

This review is of Pirate’s Wild Paradise a standalone Zebra romance from February 1989 by Kate Douglas. The book starts in Port Royale, Jamaica, with the heroine about to get married. However, her ceremony is interrupted by our hero and Jamie’s former lover. 3 stars

shanna

Historical Romance Review: Shanna by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss

Posted on May 7, 2022February 27, 2023 by IntrovertReader

In 1977 Kathleen E. Woodiwiss’ long-awaited third novel made romance history. I’ve had a tenuous relationship with Woodiwiss’ romances, but I am glad I read Shanna. 3.74 stars

Bold Texas Embrace

Historical Romance Review: Bold Texas Embrace by Victoria Thompson

Posted on May 2, 2022November 28, 2023 by Blue Falcon

This review is of Bold Texas Embrace, #4 in the “The Cowboy and the Lady” series by Victoria Thompson (Zebra/Kensington December 1989).
It is my least favorite book in the series. 2.66 stars

an outrageous proposal

Category Romance Review: An Outrageous Proposal by Miranda Lee

Posted on April 27, 2022November 28, 2023 by IntrovertReader

Miranda Lee’s An Outrageous Proposal is an outrageously sexy Harlequin Presents. Laura had been happily married to Dirk Thornton. Laura was so obsessed with having a child, however. Soon their difficulty to conceive led to a divorce. But now Laura wants Dirk back. 4.5 stars
