I really love the painted covers for older romance novels – it gives them a timeless look 🙂
I cannot agree enough! Nothing beats a painted cover and you can see the contrast in the images above. Some digital artists are fabulous in their field like Alan Ayers, Doreen Minuto, Jon Paul, and Victor Gadino. But many other new covers are stock images, recycled images or contain poor photo-shopping. These aren’t so bad, but the older covers had an artistic flair for romance.
