Lately, you may have noticed a few hiccups here at Sweet Savage Flame. For that, we owe our readers an apology and sincerest gratitude for your patience.

Thank You for Understanding
Dear Readers of Sweet Savage Flame,
You may have noticed some irregularities in some of our latest posts. To that end, I must apologize for the incomplete articles recently uploaded to the website.
I’m the creator of and primary contributor to this blog and the web developer. I take full responsibility for these errors. I want to express my sincerest apologies to all of you who have taken the time to visit and read Sweet Savage Flame.

Health Issues
Unfortunately, due to my current health status and other factors, I have not been able to keep up with the demands of running the blog as efficiently as I would like. Consequently, some posts have been published prematurely without undergoing proper proofreading and editing.
I’ve been open about my struggles with ADHD and lupus. Sadly, I haven’t given my health the proper attention I should have, leading to my diabetes diagnosis. It’s a reality that I must deal with now.

Several Works-in-Progress
As some of you may be aware, I have had two work-in-progress projects on hold for a while now. Additionally, I’m taking part in a massive undertaking: partnering with several groups to create a book about the evolution of paperback romance covers. This will be an in-depth study of the cover artists, photographers, designers, models, and styles used by publishers and imprints, which involves research, interviews, writing, and obtaining legal rights.
I’m passionate about this project and delighted to see that romance novels are finally being recognized for their craftsmanship in cover design. Fans want a comprehensive resource on this topic, and this book offers just that. It’s surprising there hasn’t been more focus on the stories behind the beautiful romance cover art created by so many renowned and respected illustrators.
It seems like a missed opportunity, given the caliber of these artists, as many other genres, such as pulp and comic books, have had a lot of attention dedicated to their artwork. I’m frustrated with the limited sources on romance covers and feel it’s a topic that deserves more recognition.
That’s why I’m striving to create an extensive overview of this subject to honor its history.

Providing the Best at Sweet Savage Flame
However, I still have Sweet Savage Flame to run, and I am sorry for not being consistent in providing the absolute best output.
It’s important to me that my readers receive high-quality writing, and I’ve been letting you—and myself—down. I’m working hard to ensure that these issues do not arise again in the future and am taking every possible measure to avoid them.
I deeply appreciate all those who have been so encouraging in the last two years. Your readership is invaluable to me, and Sweet Savage Flame must provide content of the highest caliber in the future.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.
Sincerely,
Jacqueline Diaz

Oh no, the Julie Garwood post is not there
I just discovered your blog recently and absolutely love it! It’s my go to for info about retro romance. From the book reviews and the list of cover artists, these resources are invaluable. I was so thankful that there was a community of other people ready to talk about vintage romance. With that said, mental and physical health should always be a top priority for anyone, because we can’t do our best if we aren’t feeling one hundred percent our best selves, I know this because that is how I am. I’m sure your readers (me included) understand that life just gets in the way sometimes❤️
Absolutely love this blog. Vintage romance enthusiasts are my people. If you’re looking for additional contributors, I am an experienced content creator with a lot to say about our favorite sort of romance from both a reader’s and a writer’s perspective. My DMs are always open. Much love.
