Artist: Daniel Crouse
Daniel Crouse was an American artist who created hundreds of covers for books, particularly in the category romance genre.
Crouse was born in 1938. He was educated at the University of Kansas. There, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts. For several years, he worked as a commercial and fine artist. Later on, he dabbled in architecture. Eventually, Crouse had a successful career as a book illustrator. In 1992 he passed away prematurely at the age of 53.
Crouse would create covers for Harlequin, Dell, and other publishers throughout the late 1970s to the early 1990s. We’ve featured some of his illustrations before. See our reviews for Forever Mine, Valentine, and Tangled Hearts for other covers. Crouse was incredibly prolific for two of our favorite series, the Harlequin Temptation and Presents lines. So we are thoroughly familiar with his art and style.
