Early Life and Art Career
The artist Diane Sivavec created covers for various book genres throughout her long career.
She was born in 1961 in western Pennsylvania. Sivavec received her formal education at Syracuse University’s School of Visual and Performing Arts.
As a student, her awards included the Society of Illustrators honors, class valedictorian, and the Scholar-Athlete of the year award.
She has painted fine china plates for the Bradford Exchange. Sivavec has been hugely successful with subjects such as Elvis, The Beatles, and James Stewart from Its a Wonderful Life. She has also painted images of sports stars like Dan Marino.


Book Illustrations
She has worked for top advertising departments, like the Hearst Corporation and Anheuser-Busch. Elite publishers such as Random House, Doubleday, and Scholastic Books have hired Diane Sivavec to create covers.

Diane Sivavec has produced many stunning romance book covers for publishing houses such as Ballantine, Kensington‘s Zebra imprint, and Avon.
Like other cover illustrators, she turned from using oil paint to create covers to incorporating digital artwork. Still, her artwork is recognizable by the quiet beauty she evokes with her figures.
