Historical Romance Review: Sweet Savage Surrender by Kathryn Hockett
Sweet Savage Surrender, a Zebra Lovegram, was written by mother-daughter duo Marcia Hockett and Kathryn Kramer, aka Kathryn Hockett. It's a romance between two lovers from different worlds. I was not a fun book to experience and one of the dullest I've ever finished. .5 stars Read more “Historical Romance Review: Sweet Savage Surrender by Kathryn Hockett”

Historical Romance Review: Passion’s Paradise by Sonya T. Pelton
Passion's Paradise by Sonya T. Pelton is a wonderfully terrible book. However, it was oddly entertaining, like a terrible movie you watch just to shout inanities at the screen. Read more “Historical Romance Review: Passion’s Paradise by Sonya T. Pelton”

Historical Romance Review: Shanna by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss

Contemporary Romance Review: The Sheik by Edith M. Hull
The Sheik by Edith M. Hull, published in 1919, is as influential to the modern romance genre as Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Perhaps, even more so. It was a blockbuster of a success, despite its many detractors. While some modern readers may cringe at its depiction of women, sexual roles, and racial attitudes, The Sheik remains a compelling read one hundred years after its publication. 5 stars Read more “Contemporary Romance Review: The Sheik by Edith M. Hull”

Category Romance Review: Could It Be Magic by Gina Wilkins
Gina Wilkins' Could It Be Magic is a comfy romance read. It's a sensually-charged Harlequin Temptation from the early 1990s. Gwen DeClerck is a staid, young widow, who had been married to a man twice her age. When Jeremy Kane, a famous magician moves next door, he turns her stable world upside down with excitement and passion. 4 stars Read more “Category Romance Review: Could It Be Magic by Gina Wilkins”

Category Romance Review: Wish on the Moon by Sally Wentworth
Wish on the Moon by Sally Wentworth has gotten mixed to low reviews around the internet, but it's a romance I fully enjoyed. This is an unusual romance because technically, the heroine is "the other woman." She comes in and breaks up a seemingly happy engagement--and not just a random stranger's but her cousin's. 4 stars Read more “Category Romance Review: Wish on the Moon by Sally Wentworth”

Historical Romance Review: And Gold Was Ours by Rebecca Brandewyne
And Gold Was Ours is a sequel of sorts to Rebecca Brandewyne‘s Love, Cherish Me. I’d consider this more of a companion piece. While both novels have Brandewyne’s hallmark baroque-gothic atmosphere, And Gold Was Ours is not as dark and emotional as its predecessor. 3.63 stars Read more “Historical Romance Review: And Gold Was Ours by Rebecca Brandewyne”

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a fulfilling week. I'm doing some spring cleaning, trying to yet again reorganize my #books. I don't have enough shelves so I put them in boxes. There must be a ton in the attic, because I'm missing couple of 100 books. I think I'm the only person who could lose track of that many! Here's a review for a steamy #HarlequinPresents from 1995, by the late #MirandaLee. It is #ThrowbackThursday and a tweet reminded me of my beloved #cat Boomer. If human beings can have soul mates, then Boomer was mine. This week on #sweetsavageflame we highlighted one of our favorite romance cover models, Michael O'Hearn @mikeohearn. We've accumulated over 50,000 views on our Sweet Savage Flame #bookblog and we couldn't be more happy and thankful! To all our readers and supporters, we can't say enough to show our appreciation. Hello everyone I hope you're having a lovely Sunday afternoon. Today's #stepbackreveal is Rosanne Bittner wildest dreams. The cover art by H Tom Hall has Montage of the couple posing, then in an Embrace, a picture of the villain, a stampede of cattle, the heroin playing piano, and a couple of Native Americans in the snow. That's a lot going on but somehow Tom at work. How time flies! April has always been a memorable month! I wasn't going to do a #stepbacksaturday post that the weather was so nice and I had to pick a couple of Hyacinths that were being strangled by bamboo so I figured the flowers would make for a nice picture. Happy #coverlustfriday! It's been a couple of weeks as April always seems to be the most hectic month of the year. Spring cleaning and holiday times I've gotten behind in my reading. Hope you're all doing well!
